Longarone, 21 December 2020 – At such a difficult time, when even Christmas seems to have been stolen from us, the De Rigo family has chosen to show the Group’s employees and their families its affection and close bond through a video wishing everyone a happy holiday.

In the video message, the company address a special word of thanks to the 83 employees who this year are celebrating their 25th year with the company. Of these, as many as 66 are women, confirming the company’s far-sightedness and the value it has always placed on women’s contribution to the world of work.

This important milestone attests to the close ties linking the company with the territory and its people. Something that has always set the Group apart, and that represents one of its greatest strengths in every domain.

It is precisely by drawing strength from these values that De Rigo has been able to tackle the challenges posed by a particularly difficult year and to look to the future with renewed confidence.

Having closed 2019 with a turnover of 446 million Euro, the company has risen to the challenge of managing the difficulties of 2020, reacting quickly to sudden changes in the market and dynamically to an ever evolving scenario. Such qualities have allowed De Rigo to close 2020 with a lower than expected downturn (between 25% and 20%) and to start focusing promptly on new projects for 2021.

During the year, the company has shifted its business focus through a number of brave decisions. In addition to acquiring new licenses - the Philipp Plein brand on an international level, and Tumi for North and Central America and Asia - De Rigo has also established special partnerships with leading brands, such as Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini by Lozza, which have enabled it to reaffirm its global leadership.

In an ever evolving context, the company’s original identity has remained unchanged, as has its recognition of the fundamental worth of its people and its ongoing endeavour to support them.

Throughout 2020, De Rigo organised numerous initiatives supporting its staff and the local community. Most worthy of note is the decision, implemented through the De Rigo H.E.ART Foundation, to extend its study grants to all the children of De Rigo group employees, for a total of 216 secondary school and university students. No longer support reserved exclusively for the most deserving students, therefore, but widespread aid for every family.

In 2020, the company also extended its personalised and flexible supplementary health care plan featuring dedicated services chosen directly by De Rigo Vision employees.

In addition to its flexible benefits plan, enabling staff to access dedicated services and benefits throughout the year through the Company Welfare Portal, in view of the Christmas holidays De Rigo has also set up the De Rigo Club, a further portal offering employees and their families an additional range of discounts and promotions.
