Police presents its first apparel collection at Pitti

A total look emphasising the "alpha component" of individuals looking for timeless values in a journey towards new horizons

Police has been a reference brand for eyewear since 1983, owned by De Rigo Vision. It then transformed itself into a metropolitan style known and appreciated all over the world. Police now celebrates its unique nature by presenting its first apparel collection, produced and distributed by Moda Fashion at the 85th Pitti Immagine Uomo. This important debut will come after a long research and development initiative and several test capsule collections, all of confirm Police as an increasingly significant lifestyle brand . Men and women are welcomed into a highly distinctive world where an on the road aesthetic and rock with heart attitude reflect an innate philosophy.

The Police total look tells the story of a restless traveller, who, as guest of the world, is attracted by faraway places and cultures, loves exploring new horizons yet feels closely allied to the group.
Embodying a streetwear spirit, the new collection comprises iconic garments inspired by motorcycle and workwear. It's a striking meeting of very different worlds, where individual garments are skilfully mixed - in this way they shed any clear link with the world that inspired them, creating outfits that are always new and unexpected.

Outerwear, pants, shirts and T-shirts feature a careful selection of natural and technical fabrics, enhanced by extensive research into innovative treatments and finishes. The Police apparel collection, in fact, is where sartorial skills and technology meet, natural and "smart" fibres combine to create a lived-in look with outstanding performance, a perfect harmony of aesthetics and functionality.

Wool flannel, Jersey and leather are enhanced by technical components and details that transform the garments' more classic, conventional look by creating an exciting, contemporary vintage look. Great attention has been paid to details - ton-sur-ton patches, zips, buttons and style elements are used to give a grittier, more rock-oriented look to the new lines.

Great care has also been taken with the fitting to ensure the outfits are truly original yet practical and functional, designed for strong, decisive personalities who like to live their on-the-road adventures to the full.

The colour palette is made up of nocturnal, rusted tones evoking an urban wood at the edge of the city, a favourite haunt of the Police generation seeking to renew contact with their primordial values. Rarified, mainly neutral colours like black, dark ink, asphalt, khaki and oil, stolen from the street and the authentic real life world, create original layering and clashes given a touch of daring by T-shirts in bright colours inspired by the Olympics, like red, green, sky blue and yellow.
