Over 60 years ago, Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche created one of the most iconic objects of all time: the 911. Following this vision to take the principles and myth of Porsche beyond the automotive world, he created the exclusive lifestyle brand Porsche Design in 1972. His philosophy and design language live on today in all Porsche Design products. The brand has always followed the maxim of optimizing function, reducing form to the essentials, overcoming the familiar to continually discover new, better solutions – true to the principle of "engineered passion".
