Longarone, January 23 2018 - De Rigo has announced an internal reorganisation aimed at boosting distribution of the Group’s brands and permitting faster, more thorough penetration of local markets. This is the aim of appointment of a new team of managers at the helm of the Group’s North American, Middle Eastern and British branches.

Alessandro Baronti has been appointed President of De Rigo REM, based in Los Angeles. Baronti has over 30 years of optical experience; he began his career in the United States as a sales consultant for Luxottica Wholesale North America, moving through the organisation to lead the US sales market as the Vice President of Sales for the Western region.  Most recently, Baronti served as the Vice President of Industry Relations & Education for Luxottica in the United States and Canada. Baronti replaces Steve Horowitz, REM President for the past 22 years, who will be serving as a consultant in the company until mid-March to ensure smooth transition at this time of change.

Stelios Skordalakis has been appointed to the position of new General Manager of De Rigo Vision Middle East in Dubai, in charge of developing business with the Group’s Middle Eastern partners. Skordalakis has 13 years of sales, trade marketing and marketing experience with reputable local and international companies such as Chalhoub Group, Estee Lauder Companies Inc., GAP Inc. and L’Oreal S.A.

Jonathan Frost has been promoted from his former position as De Rigo UK Key Account Manager to De Rigo UK Country Manager and Sales Director.  Before joining De Rigo UK, Frost accumulated over 26 years of sales experience, including 4 years with Luxottica, holding the position of National Sales Manager (Ralph Lauren, Armani, Michael Kors, D&G, Versace) and then Senior Key Account Manager (Ray Ban, Oakley, Tiffany, Chanel, Armani, Ralph Lauren). Frost takes over from Bernhard van Ommen, who will be leaving the Group to pursue his career elsewhere.

The new management team reports directly to the Board of the De Rigo Group in Longarone, Italy, and will be working on implementation of an ambitious strategy for relaunching the Group’s brands in the markets served.
