02.06.2015 - De Rigo Vision S.p.A., a leading company in the high-end eyewear business, and Nina Ricci, the historic couture French Maison, have announced the signature of a licence agreement for the design, production and worldwide distribution of the Nina Ricci-branded optical and sun collection.
Founded in 1932 by Maria Nielli and her son Robert Ricci, the Nina Ricci brand is a pioneer of French Haute Couture in the world; led by its new Artistic Director, Guillaume Henry, the brand continues to symbolize luxury, natural elegance, femininity and sensuality. The Maison's fragrances also reflect this creative universe.
The licence agreement with De Rigo Vision will become effective in September 2015 with the launch of the first Nina Ricci collection. The distribution will be reserved to the best optical stores and department stores in the world and to Nina Ricci boutiques.
Michele Aracri, CEO of De Rigo Vision S.p.A., said: "We are delighted to include Nina Ricci licences in our portfolio. I believe in the strategic value of this partnership which has tremendous potential for growth both in the French market and in the international market, thanks to the unique and extraordinary heritage of the brand that Guillaume Henry reinterprets with a contemporary and personal touch".
Ralph Toledano, president of the Puig Fashion Division, said, "We very much look forward to this collaboration. We share the same values of creativity, high quality and integrity with De Rigo, and are confident that our partnership will offer Nina Ricci the position it deserves in the field of optical and sun eyewear."
